Letting Go = Balance

One of my favorite books is Jon Kabat-Zinn’s WHEREVER YOU GO THERE YOU ARE! I can read it cover to cover or I can just pick it up and I will read exactly what passage I am supposed to. Today I picked up Letting Go and it is one of the most insightful passages that we need in order to achieve balance every day…

Jon Kabat-Zinn states that letting go is ” … a conscious decision to release with FULL acceptance into the stream of present moments as they are unfolding. To let go means to give up coercing, resisting, or struggling, in exchange for something more powerful and wholesome which comes out of allowing things to be as they are...” and it continues to go on (but I’ll let you read that for yourselves! LOL)

How powerful is the above statement!!! We are constantly striving for balance in our lives- with our families, with our careers, within ourselves. When we have difficulty distinguishing what we can control and what we cannot is when we experience prolonged or chronic stress thus manifested later in physical, mental or emotional illness. We have to CONSCIOUSLY choose to release with FULL acceptance as Jon Kabat-Zinn writes so eloquently.

When we let go and accept things as they are, we feel inner peace don’t we? We feel better equipped to face the day with whatever it has in store for us and we can be like water- ebb and flow with the changes that presents that day. We are balanced, focused, and guided to do everything peacefully and with grace.

So, my friends, LET GO and feel the balance… It’s mid-February already and are you balanced yet for 2013?
